THIS SABBATH AT THE ORCHARD MELBOURNE CENTRAL CITY CHURCH, AUGUST 13, 2022 we are pleased to present Barry Buirski from Celebrate Messiah, who will be giving a fascinating presentation from the Jewish perspective of Jewish feasts and rituals. Barry has been a Christian for over forty years, having been brought up in a Jewish household. His insights will be highly valuable and important for those seeking a deeper understanding to part of the Old Testament background, which features so prominently in the New Testament. Please arrive by 11:15am. We are located at 474 Flinders Street opposite the Melbourne Aquarium. The Sabbath School lesson time commences at 10 am, the Orchard Church service starts at 11:20 am. Barry was born in Cape Town, South Africa and was raised in a non-observant Jewish home. After the tragic death of Barry’s father, and three years of service engaged in guerrilla warfare in the South African army, Barry was left devastated, angry and empty. In 1981 Barry’s now wife Melinda became a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) and in 1985, by the Grace of God, Barry also surrendered all to Him. In 1987 Barry moved to Israel to preach the good news of the gospel to his own people. “What could be more Jewish than following the Messiah!” says Barry.  Since 2001, Barry has been serving with Celebrate Messiah Australia as an Associate Missionary and Evangelist. He runs a charity called ‘Tikkun Olam’ (‘Repairing the World’), delivering kosher food parcels to needy people in Jewish communities all over Australia.
