FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE ORCHARD BIBLE WORKERS

An abridged history of The Orchard Melbourne Seventh-day Adventist CITY Church and why we would like you to financially support the Orchard Bible Workers Program. Over the last 12 years since my team and I planted the Orchard Seventh-day Adventist Church in Melbourne’s CBD (474 Flinders Street), and being the only SDA Church in Melbourne City, we have ministered to hundreds of people who have been unemployed, affected by drugs/alcohol, homeless, friendless, dispirited and others who have wanted to learn more about God’s Word in Melbourne’s CBD. Nobody was ever turned away at the Orchard and nobody gets turned away at the Orchard. To reach these people my team and I have run a variety of evangelistic programs, including Last Day Events, Archaeology, Health and nutrition series, and Six-day Creation series. We have used the social media, posters and letterbox materials to market ourselves and promote our programs. We have done extensive street ministry particularly focusing on surveys with good results. As our result we have had a number of baptisms over the years.

However, these types of programs being expensive to run, draw few people today in our hedonistic capital Melbourne. Nonetheless the drive and passion to minister effectively for the Lord in preparation of the Second Coming has never been stronger among the team in the city. It is for that reason; we are wanting to commence an extensive Bible Worker Program from the Orchard. Where men and women will work Melbourne’s CBD and Inner Suburbs finding Christ’s lost sheep and bringing them into the one-fold (John 10). It is for this reason we want to launch our extensive Bible worker program, where eventually we will be employing multiple workers, with each one working in Melbourne’s CBD and inner suburbs for twenty hours a week and each one will be generously reimbursed. Our Bible workers will not be ministering to the already convinced, i.e. to Adventists, their focus will be on finding new contacts.

SUPPORT THE ORCHARD BIBLE WORKERS

To financially support the Orchard Bible Workers, you are investing your money into a Bible Worker program, where both men and women are trained extensively. Each person who meets the Orchard requirements will be able to work independently to give Bible studies and gain decisions for Christ, which will eventually lead to baptisms. They will be taught how to run Revelation and Daniel programs as follow up programs to Bible studies. They will be coached how to preach, to facilitate Sabbath School lessons, to lead small groups, with opportunities at the Orchard to use those skill sets and in public venues. They will be shown how to door knock Melbourne’s CBD and Inner Suburbs, at the same time how to deal with objections. They will be involved in street ministry, not pantomimes, but real street evangelism using surveys or book tables to find interests and then eventually do Bible studies with new contacts. They will be taught how to run health programs particularly focusing on Blood Pressure Testing Ministry in the CBD and local shopping centres. They will distribute our literature like the leaves of autumn or to quote Mrs. White more precisely “Unvarnished truth must be spoken in leaflets and pamphlets, and these must be scattered like the leaves of autumn” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 230).

We at the Orchard believe in the days shortly ahead of us the Third Angels Message is to be given with power as described in Revelation 14:6-12 and Revelation 18:1-5. From the Bible we read: ‘And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.’  (Revelation 14:6, 7). Also from 2nd Selected Messages we read: ‘This message, if heeded, will call the attention of every nation and kindred and tongue and people to a close examination of the Word, and to the true light in regard to the power that has changed the seventh-day Sabbath to a spurious sabbath. The only true God has been forsaken, His law has been discarded, His sacred Sabbath institution has been trampled in the dust by the man of sin. The fourth commandment, so plain and explicit, has been ignored. The Sabbath memorial, declaring who the living God is, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, has been torn down, and a spurious sabbath has been given to the world in its place. Thus a breach has been made in the law of God.’ 2SM p. 105.  We at the Orchard see this as a clarion call to mission and to reach those people who are yet to hear the truth in Melbourne.
We believe this at the Orchard, we believe that we will see the Second Coming in our lifetime, and we believe that a new approach must be taken in the city and inner suburbs of Melbourne to get people’s attention, but we need your help. We need your financial support, we have high hopes and great faith in God, but we are also realists. We at the Orchard are praying for the success of this ministry but it begins with funding the project and for this we are praying that you can help us.

PLEASE FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE ORCHARD BIBLE WORKERS
We at the Orchard have an ambitious plan and we are praying that you can help us in some small or even large measure to fund our program. We are aiming at employing 12 Bible workers annually simultaneously. Our plan is to pay them $40 per hour and they will work 20 hours per week in the city and inner suburbs seeking new contacts to commence Bible studies. Simple mathematics will quickly alert you that we are needing a sizeable about of funds. Nonetheless, we are eager to commence this essential ministry with just two or three Bible workers, so they can work in teams. If you can assist us in funding our extensive Bible worker program, of which we would be most grateful, please make a direct debit payment to the
Westpac Bank – Account Name: The Orchard Melbourne Central City Church:  BSB 033137:  Account Number 753856.
Thank you for supporting God’s work In Melbourne’s CBD and please visit us at the Orchard one Sabbath morning of you are in Melbourne.  Again, thank you for your financial support of which we are most grateful.

Humbly yours in the Blessed Hope
Pastor Rod Anderson
