Near death experiences: Is there just death or do people get close and then return to their bodies. This episodes will show why people experience this.

Hi I’m Rod Anderson, you are more than likely scratching your head about the title of my show today “Cheer for the Atheist.”  But I am quite serious, we should all cheer and applaud the questions, challenges and even insults enemies of God and the Bible pile against us. Why?  Because it forces each one of us to think about what we believe, it challenges us to question what we accept as truth, the end result being we are better able to give a reason for our own faith in a mature and reasoned manner. One of the traps which Christians fall into, is they simply become surface readers.  What I mean by that, is they skim the surface when reading the Bible, they hurry across passages of Scripture just like they do when reading Facebook posts,  or just as bad, they don’t read or study the Bible at all. I am not only talking about pew warmers, I am talking about the spiritual leaders of churches, they don’t dig, nor do they ask questions regarding the context both historically and literary. They neglect to ask the who, how, why and when’s of the passages they read, and as such remain as infants, never coming to a full maturity of the text, nor of the faith.  The sure result is seen today with an appalling lack of basic Bible knowledge, from those in the pews, to the pulpits, to the seminaries and highest positions of church office.  Listen to the late Christopher Hitchens who was interviewed by a Catholic comment on the way the interview went VIDEO – Hitchens This is just how it is, Catholics not knowing their own churches doctrines, but it is not restricted to Catholics, the majority in all denomination are vague on what the Bible says, that is if they have even read it at all.  Staying with Catholicism and Cardinal George Pell. At the time of the recording of this episode, George Pell had become Cardinal which meant  he was in line to become pope, but he was asked a question in relation to the Ten Commandments, what he says will stagger you. Video –

I would rather trust what Jesus said about death, after all Jesus knows, He experienced death in every sense of the word. But none of us have to be confused about this subject if we know what the Bible says.
